For a period of three days, Arnhem’s O.K. Festival will be all about independent magazines …
A quick reminder: people, quality, and companies of long tradition in the context of contemporary design and economics, this is the motto of A Guide Magazine. The first issue, published back in last October, focused exclusively on “handcrafts” in connection with this interesting field of inquiry. Now, the second issue deals the “horse” as an important design as well as economic factor in an enthralling and humorous manner.
The current issue tells the story of luxury label Hermès, and why it wouldn’t exist in its present form if it wasn’t for the horse and saddle, explains how Paris, the city of love, its floosies and horses are interconnected and sheds a light on horse boxes and stables as design objects, to name but a few of the interesting perspectives touched upon inside this spring’s A Guide Magazine issue. Also inside: the guide to Vienna’s 50 hotspots to do with design, music, fashion, architecture, film, crafts and graphic design.
The second issue of A Guide Magazine is now available in selected book and magazine stores throughout Europe. Alternatively, you can simply order it directly online ...
Extraordinary international and independent magazines have been invited to participate and present themselves in an on-site exhibtion. Apart from the magazine exhibition, the programme will also offer workshops held by international magazine-makers, individual magazine presentations as well as exciting lectures on the theme of magazine culture and new developments in magazine design and the future of print magazines.
Lecturers and presented magazines, among others, include Max Bruinsma from Items, Bas Jacobs, co-founder of Underware, magazines GUP, DUF and Sang Bleu.
