Rocket Cinema proudly presents it’s third biannual festival, blasting off on 28 October in Amsterdam and then orbiting around a further 8 destinations before landing in Groningen on 26 November. Inspired by this year’s theme of ‘Adventure’, DJs, artists and musicians have been invited to create and perform new soundtracks for vintage movies.

The journey begins at the Planetarium in Amsterdam where Klerkx and the Secret perform an up-tempo, spaced-out soundtrack for the sci-fi classic, Fantastic Voyage (GB,1966). The cathedral-like settings of the Oude Kerk form the dramatic background for the original version of King Kong (USA, 1933) on Monday 31 October, the Halloween Screamer night. The whole building will resonate to the screams of Fay Wray mixed with techno beats as rising stars of the local dance scene, Homework, wrestle with the giant ape during this hair-raising Halloween experience.

Under the battlecry ‘Ontspoort!’, Rocket Cinema jumps on the next train bound for Utrecht in a unique collaboration with the NS (Dutch National Railways) before making a return to Amsterdam.

Back in the capital on 19 November, Buchner & d’Arles take the English box office smash Robbery for an intimate evening in the Grands Cafe 1e Klas on Platform 2B of the Central Station, supported by DJVLuxxx’s romantic soundtrack for the tear-jerker Brief Encounter (GB, 1945). Earlier in the afternoon, passengers are invited to take a pitstop in the Rocket Cinema waiting room for free screenings of shortened versions of The General and Georges Melie’s, Voyage a Travers L’Impossible in the Cuypershal.

**Unlike has 2×2 tickets to give away for the Halloween Screamer night on October 31. To win, simply tweet us @AMS_unlike and tell us what movie you’re most looking forward to seeing.
