Directly opposite the Melkweg, this former theater has in recent years developed into quite the place to be.

With its eclectic program that pits techno nights against new media events and usually offers live-acts as well as DJs during its club nights, Sugar Factory programs its weirder acts earlier in the evening, after which the place turns into a heaving dancefloor. Hosting the weekly Wicked Jazz Sounds and Popcast nights, this club hosts some of the liveliest and most original parties in town, drawing a different crowd every night.

Amidst the Leidseplein clubscene, the Factory stands out for its friendly (read: non-existing) door policy and affordable ticket prices.
